Mrs. Kausar Wali, the founder and managing director of D’Learner SkillUp, brings over two decades of experience and a wealth of expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and special education, with a particular focus on neurodivergent individuals. With a background in education and a profound understanding of the unique challenges faced by learners and their support systems, Mrs. Wali is dedicated to empowering educators and caregivers to establish inclusive learning environments that embrace neurodiversity.
Mrs. Wali holds multiple degrees and certifications, including IBA, QBA®, BCaBA, B.Ed, MSc(Maths), MSc(Psychology), SEN certified (UK). She completed the prestigious Applied Behavior Analysis graduate level course sequence from Florida Institute of Technology (U.S.A).
Her journey began with a personal connection to Autism Spectrum Disorder, igniting a passion to bridge the gap between caregivers, educators, and neurodivergent learners.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Wali has held various positions within esteemed institutions in Dubai, including roles such as lead therapist, senior trainer, ABA supervisor, ABA program coordinator, and head of the ABA department.
Her focus has been on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Verbal Behavior (VB), and special education for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental differences.
Mrs. Wali has demonstrated exceptional leadership in conducting numerous ABA training courses, workshops, mentoring sessions for para-professionals, educators, and parents of neurodivergent learners.
Proficient in conducting comprehensive assessments and designing individualized educational and treatment programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each learner and their families, Mrs. Wali utilizes various assessment tools such as VB MAPP, ABLLs, Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLs), Essential For Living (EFL), Preference assessments, and Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA).
Furthermore, she has extensive experience in the application of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) technology such as Proloquo2go, PECS, and Makaton/American Sign Language, integrating them into the learner’s Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) in various settings.
Her significant contributions to the field have been widely recognized, culminating in her receiving the prestigious HRH Princess Haya Award in 2008 for her exceptional dedication and contributions to childhood development and special education. She also received the highest performance award, “Exceeding Performance Expectation” in 2012-2013, further highlighting her commitment and impact in the field.
Mrs. Wali’s dedication extends beyond clinical environments to comprehensive school consultation services and collaboration with schools and nurseries. She supports teachers in developing comprehensive Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs). Additionally, she assists with the transition plan from therapies to school, overseeing the hiring and training of ABA therapists and learning support assistants (LSAs) to ensure each learner is matched with the ideal professional.
